The Portugal Getaways Algarve, Seville and Lisbon road trip includes round-trip flights, 9 nights of hotels (3 in the Algarve, 3 in Seville and 3 in Lisbon), a rental car picked up at Faro Airport and returned at Lisbon Airport, and all taxes and fees related to the booking. Meals, tours, entrance tickets, fuel, tolls and parking are not included.

Yes, round-trip flights are included. You fly into Faro and home from Lisbon. Other departure cities are shown on the package page, and more options are available on request. Seat selection, extra baggage and cabin upgrades are not included in the package price but can be added for a fee, subject to availability.

Checked luggage depends on the airline and fare in your package. You can see what is included and add luggage during the booking process, or the Portugal Getaways team can arrange it for you.

The hotels are selected by the Portugal Getaways team and are centrally located in each stop. The available hotels are shown when you click a date in the booking calendar and go to the next step, and the package price depends on the hotels you choose. Upgrades are available on request.

Breakfast is not included by default, but many hotels offer it, and the Portugal Getaways team can prioritize hotels with breakfast included when you book. Additional costs may apply.

The rental car is picked up at Faro Airport on arrival and returned at Lisbon Airport before your flight home. The standard car is a compact or economy model, and automatic cars are available on request at an additional cost. Driving into Spain is part of the route, and the one-way return in Lisbon is already arranged. You will need your passport, driver's license and a credit card in the main driver's name at pick-up.

The rental includes basic insurance. Most rentals still have an excess, the amount you pay if the car is damaged. We always recommend upgrading to the highest insurance level available, which the Portugal Getaways team can arrange when you book with an agent.

We recommend carrying an International Driving Permit (IDP) together with your US or Canadian driver's license, as Spain asks for it and some rental companies may request it at pick-up. It is easy to get before you leave home.

Parking is available at or near most hotels. Parking is not included in the package price and costs vary by hotel. You can check the parking details for your hotel on the next step when clicking See Dates and Prices. The Portugal Getaways team can also help you prioritize a hotel with on-site parking when booking.

Yes, in Portugal. Most Portuguese motorways have electronic tolls, and the A22 in the Algarve has no toll booths at all. Most rental cars include a toll device that charges automatically; ask the rental company to confirm it at pick-up. Tolls are not included in the package price. Before your trip, the Portugal Getaways team sends you a travel checklist with the Via Verde toll calculator so you can estimate costs.

From Faro to Seville it is about 124 mi / 200 km, around 2 hours. From Seville to Lisbon it is about 285 mi / 460 km, around 4 hours 30 minutes, and Évora is a good place to stop for lunch on the way. The day trips from Lisbon to Sintra and to Fátima and Óbidos are under 1 hour 30 minutes each way.

Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) are the most comfortable seasons, with warm days for the Algarve beaches and pleasant temperatures for walking in Seville and Lisbon. Summer is beach season in the Algarve, but Seville often goes above 95°F (35°C). Winter is mild and quiet, with lower prices.

The package price is based on two travelers sharing a room. Solo travelers pay a single supplement. You can check solo pricing by changing the number of guests from 2 to 1 in the booking calendar before clicking See Dates and Prices, or contact the Portugal Getaways team.

Portugal and Spain are both part of the Schengen Area, so there are no passport checks at the border on the drive. U.S. and Canadian passport holders do not need a visa for stays of up to 90 days within a 180-day period. Your passport should be valid for at least six months beyond your return date. ETIAS, a pre-travel authorization for the Schengen Area, is not yet mandatory; when it starts, we will let you know in advance.

The land portion of your package is refundable if cancelled at least 14 days before your travel date. Airfare is non-refundable once issued, but the Portugal Getaways team will always check with the airline for options. Travel insurance with cancellation cover is strongly recommended.
