These are the three most popular tours from Lisbon, so you see what most first-time visitors come for without planning it yourself.

• Tuk-Tuk Tour Following Tram 28: Tram 28 is Lisbon's most famous tram, a small yellow streetcar that climbs through Graça, Alfama, Baixa and Chiado. It is usually packed, so you follow its route in a private electric tuk-tuk for about 2 hours.
• Sintra, Cabo da Roca and Cascais: 8 AM to 5 PM, with tickets and a guided visit at Pena Palace and Quinta da Regaleira.
• Évora and Monsaraz with Wine Tasting: 8 AM to 5 PM, with entrance to the Chapel of Bones and a tasting of Alentejo wines.

On foot. Every hotel in this package was chosen to be a short walk from the tour meeting points, all within about 15 minutes on foot (estimated), so you do not need a taxi or hotel pick-up. The tuk-tuk tour starts at the Hard Rock Cafe Lisboa, Avenida da Liberdade 2, or at Rua do Comércio. Both full-day tours leave at 8 AM from Praça da Figueira, in front of the statue. The Sintra tour ends at Marquês de Pombal, and the Évora tour returns to central Lisbon at about 5 PM. Your trip documents include the exact meeting point and time for each tour.

The tuk-tuk tour is private, just for your group, with a guide-driver. The Sintra and Évora and Monsaraz tours are small-group tours of up to 8 people, so you join other travelers. They are guided in English, and the group may also include Portuguese and Spanish speakers, so the guide may switch between languages during the day.

The tuk-tuk tour is the easiest, with short stops at viewpoints. In Sintra, Pena Palace and Quinta da Regaleira have hills, uneven paths and stairs, so comfortable shoes help. The Évora and Monsaraz tour includes walking on cobblestones and is not suitable for wheelchair users, pregnant travelers or people with respiratory, cardiac or physical conditions. Meals are not included, apart from the wine tasting in Monsaraz. Lunch is not included on the two full-day tours, and both stop with free time to eat in Sintra or Cascais and in Évora's old town. Breakfast depends on the hotel rate you choose and can be added during the booking process when available.

All hotels are 4-star or 5-star, in Baixa, Chiado, Rossio, Restauradores, Avenida da Liberdade and Bairro Alto, chosen to be a short walk from the tour meeting points, all within about 15 minutes on foot. Lisbon is a city of hills, so some walks include a climb. The exact options appear when you click a date in the booking calendar. The package price depends on the accommodation selected.

No. Lisbon is easy to explore with the metro, trams and taxis, and parking in the center is difficult and expensive. To reach Belém, take tram 15 or the train from Cais do Sodré, about 20 minutes. The two day trips to Sintra and the Alentejo are by air-conditioned vehicle, so you do not need to drive at any point.

Spring (March to May) and autumn (late September to November) are the most comfortable, with 17 to 24°C (63 to 75°F). Summer is hot, often 28 to 33°C (82 to 91°F), and busier, especially in Sintra. Winter is mild, around 9 to 15°C (48 to 59°F), with more rain and fewer crowds, which suits the palaces and museums.

Portugal is consistently ranked among the safest countries in Europe, with no active conflicts and not affected by the current conflicts in Europe or elsewhere. Standard precautions apply in busy tourist areas. US and Canadian passport holders do not currently need a visa for stays of up to 90 days within a 180-day period. Your passport should be valid for at least six months beyond your return date. ETIAS is not yet mandatory; when it becomes mandatory, the Portugal Getaways team will notify you in advance.

Starting November 3, 2026, all passengers flying to the United States, or connecting through U.S. territory, must hand in a signed declaration at check-in. This applies to U.S. citizens too. It confirms you have not been in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in the 21 days before your flight. Download the form from the CDC website, fill it in, sign it and date it with your travel date. Passengers without a completed form may be denied boarding, so we recommend arriving at the airport with extra time. Requirements can change, so please check the CDC page before you travel.

The land portion of your package is refundable if cancelled at least 14 days before your travel date. Airfare is non-refundable from the moment it is issued.
